Skyward is the computerized prepayment system for school meals in our district. Students use a 4 digit pin number to access their family account in the lunch line. Each child in your family has access to the same account, which allows you to make one payment regardless of the number of children enrolled in the district. Skyward is declining balance system, similar to a checking account. Money must be in the account in order to purchase lunch, extra milk or a la carte items. There is no maximum amount that you can pre-pay, and there are also options that make it easy for you to keep track of your family account and make payments on line.

Web Statements

Parents are able to Access Family Statements online to check a balance, or review charges by student using your family ID and students pin number. You can also register to receive low balance reminders and statements via email, send us an email and we will add your address into the system. This will insure your statements always make it home to you.

Online Payments

New London School District has partnered with Efunds for Schools to allow Electronic Payments by Credit Card, Debit Card, or directly from your Savings or Checking Account, into your family account via their secure web site. By clicking on the “Make a Payment Online” button, you can easily sign up for this service by registering at any time. Just think! no more checks to write, or worrying about it getting lost on the way to school. There is no cost to make payments directly from your bank account, but a small fee per use for Credit Card purchases.

Students will be reminded online when the family balance drops to $10 per student, so they have ample time to bring in a payment. Automated phone messages or emails will be sent as a reminder when family balances reach $3.00 per student. If the family balance reaches $0, a note will be handed to the student that indicates a payment must be made by 10 am the following day, or purchases will not be allowed on the account.

Students who receive free or reduced price meals have the same lunch options as students who pay full price, however A la Carte snack items are not included with lunch so students who purchase them on account are charged full price, regardless of whether they receive free or reduced price meals. Parents should discuss purchasing guidelines with their children in advance to prevent unwelcome charges to their account.

Payments are accepted by check or online by clicking the “Make a Payment Online” button above. Payments by check or cash will only be accepted in an envelope, clearly marked with the students first and last name, and lunch id. Any money remaining at the end of the school year will be transferred with the student to the next grade.

Meal Charges

USDA requires school districts to identify the procedures that will be followed when students do not have enough funds in their account to purchase a meal.
